The Daily Queue - Book
This book shows the collection of long lines in NYC revealing how hype and social media shape urban behavior through consumption. People aren’t simply waiting for food or fashion—they’re consuming experiences, trends, and the very idea of belonging. Just like online, lining up becomes a way to prove you were there, to take part in the city’s collective desires. What looks like waiting is also a performance of FOMO, a ritual of overconsumption where being present is itself a product. This newspaper-format juxtaposes the old-fashioned form of print with contemporary content, highlighting the tension between traditional media and the hyper-mediated culture of FOMO and overconsumption. Each headline, photo, and column documents how individuals are influenced to act, consume, and belong, turning everyday waiting into a reflection of society’s collective desires.
